Foods That Make You Fit

Have you been sweating out in the gym every day, but yet not achieved the desirable results for your body? What you need to understand is that just working out in the gym alone can never give you the required results for a toned body. You need to have a balanced diet along with it to get the complete benefits of your workout. A balanced diet does not mean keeping a count of calories or the amount of proteins or minerals which we consume. It is more about the food quality and the type of food that we eat. It is more important to focus on the nutrition that you get from the food.

Here are some foods that will benefit you the most when you eat them as you work your way out towards achieving the perfect body:

SALADS

Any raw vegetables can be added to make your salad. Carrots, beetroot, cucumber, broccoli, tomato are some vegetables that you can add in your salad. Avoid any kind of dressings on the salad like topping them up with mayonnaise or any sauces. The best time to eat salads is prior to your meals (lunch and dinner). If your goal is to reduce your food intake, eat salads at least 30 minutes before your meal. Remember to keep an interval of about 3 hours between your workout session and your last meal. Also avoid eating anything 30 minutes post your workout session.

FRUITS

Fruits provide us with the maximum benefits. They give us the nutrition that our body needs. Any fresh fruits are good for your health. Eating seasonal fruits can provide you with fiber and nutrition. Also, avoid drinking fruit juices. Always prefer chewing fruits. The best time to eat fruits is 45 minutes before your gym session. You may eat a fruit about 30 to 40 minutes after a gym session as well.

WATER

Doctors always recommend drinking at least 10-12 glasses of water every day for good digestion. It is also very important to keep your body hydrated. Drink about 2 glasses of water as you wake up, followed by a freshly squeezed lime juice in lukewarm water. This will help in clearing your bowels, thus improving your digestion.

VEGETABLES

Eat more of sprouts, oats and whole grains. Never over cook your veggies or fry them as the essential nutrients in it are lost. You can also include eggs in your diet. Always prefer eating white meat over red meat. Do not eat anything at least 2 hours before your gym session and 30 minutes after it. Eat your evening meal by or before 7 pm for better digestion.

Following a healthy diet is very essential when you are exercising as it maximizes the benefits and will immune your body from any diseases. The above mentioned food items are extremely healthy. For best results always consult a good dietician who can guide you and offer the correct diet plan as per your health.
